Weddings Behind Bars - The Sweetheart Ceremony (Marrying an Inmate) Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC    Fee:  $385 - $455      Upon booking your wedding with me, you will receive a free wedding ceremony workbook with sample ceremonies and beautiful readings.  In addition, you will receive a personalized draft ceremony, and a premarital questionnaire.  There is a $100 nonrefundable deposit required to secure my services for your wedding day.  This deposit is subtracted from the total cost.   The above fees are based on writing and revising the ceremony, traveling to and from the wedding site, my time corresponding with you, officiating the ceremony, filing the county marriage license, and (if applicable) a holiday wedding fee ($60 is added to the base cost).    Please Note:  All ceremonies require a valid marriage license that must be presented to me prior to my officiating the wedding ceremony.    For marriage licensing procedures, please check with the marriage bureau of the circuit court in the jurisdiction in which you are planning to get married.         Since all prisons are not created equal, my services may not be available at  institutions where strict guidelines discourages a minister participation.  I am willing to provide my ministerial credentials and picture driver license in order to perform a wedding.   However, I am not interested in providing my social security number and date of birth for this purpose.    Chaplain B at one of the Jessup prisons gave me some worthy advice "never give anyone your social security number over the phone or in writing."  Since I respect the advice of a colleague and sage of the system, I do not provide this information to the prison chaplain or his/her associates.  It is my personal opinion, that the criminal background check for clergy is only a rouge to prevent inmates from marrying while in jail.   So have patience and wait for your love one to be free.  Otherwise finding a minister who is willing to strip for your wedding, is not going to be easy.  Since I have been performing weddings (2005), I have only performed 6 prison wedding  ceremonies.  They were at prisons in Jessup and Hagerstown, Maryland.    This tells you that the demand is low.  Therefore new regulations for visiting ministers will probably not be considered.  So I have resigned from performing prison weddings where the security clearance is high.      My Territory   The territory in which I will be offering my services where a criminal background check is not necessary:  parts of Southern Maryland that includes;  Prince Georges County, Calvert County, St. Mary's County, and Charles County.     In addition, I will extend my services to; Montgomery County MD, Howard County Maryland, Anne Arundel County Maryland, Frederick County MD, Carroll County Maryland, Baltimore County MD, Baltimore City Maryland, Arlington County Virginia, Fairfax County Virginia, Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, DC.
